AI image enhancer
Open a photo and it is fixed on your own device in under a second: exposure, colour, shadows and clarity. Not sure what is wrong? Ask the AI to diagnose it, or let it redraw the whole photo.
Open a photo to get instant, private fixes in your browser, then optionally run an AI pass.
Enhance a photo in three moves
Open it
Drop in a JPEG, PNG or WebP. It is decoded in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Fix it
Press Auto fix, or ask What’s wrong with this photo? for an AI read-out that sets the sliders for you. Drag the divider to compare.
Go further or save
Save the full-resolution JPEG, or run AI enhance for a redrawn version with recovered texture and balanced light.
One photo, ten ways to fix it
Every tool on the contact sheet below opens the same way and keeps your photo on your device until you choose an AI pass.
What an image enhancer should fix, in order
Retouchers work in a fixed order because each step changes the next. This enhancer follows it too:
- Noise first. Sharpening amplifies grain, so grain is smoothed before anything else.
- Exposure and tone. Brightness is set from the middle of the histogram, then shadows are lifted and highlights recovered separately so the sky and the faces both survive.
- Colour. A warmth slider removes the orange of indoor bulbs or the blue of shade; saturation is applied last on top of corrected light.
- Sharpening last. An unsharp mask on brightness only, so edges get crisper without coloured fringes.
Watch the histogram under the buttons while you drag. A healthy photo usually spreads across the whole width without piling up against either wall. A pile on the left means lost shadow detail; a pile on the right means blown highlights.
When to use the AI pass
Sliders are honest: they only rearrange the light and colour already in the file. They cannot put back texture that JPEG compression removed, or detail lost to a small phone sensor at night.
The AI enhance button hands a copy to a generative image model that has learned what sharp, well-lit photos look like and redraws yours in that direction, keeping composition and faces. Use it for low-light phone shots, heavily compressed images from messaging apps, and screenshots of photos. Use the sliders when accuracy matters more than polish, for example product photos or anything used as a record.
The diagnosis button is cheaper and faster: a vision model looks at a small copy, names the problems in plain words and sets the sliders. It never comments on the people in the picture. ahaboo is a free site that turns tricky subjects into clear, interactive lessons, with new topics added often.

Questions people ask
How can I improve the quality of a photo for free?
Open it here and press Auto fix for light and colour, then use the specific tool for the remaining problem: Unblur for blur, Upscaler for low resolution, Denoise for grain. All are free with no watermark.
Does an AI image enhancer increase resolution?
Not on this page: the enhancer fixes light, colour and clarity at the same size. To increase resolution use the image upscaler (2× to 8×, or straight to HD or 4K).
Is this AI image enhancer free?
Yes. The instant enhancer, histogram and full-resolution export are free with no account and no watermark. AI passes are free too, with an hourly limit per visitor so the service stays up for everyone.
Are my photos uploaded?
Not for the slider fixes: they run in your browser with JavaScript, and the photo never leaves your device. Only when you press an AI button is a resized copy (up to 1280px) sent to our AI provider to process that one request. We do not store it.
What does "Auto fix" actually change?
It measures your photo’s brightness histogram and average colour, then sets exposure from the median brightness, contrast from the spread between the darkest and brightest 1%, lifts crushed shadows, pulls back clipped highlights and neutralises colour casts with a grey-world white balance. Every value lands on a slider you can adjust.
What is the difference between the sliders and the AI enhance?
Sliders transform the pixels you already have, so they are predictable and never invent content. The AI pass redraws the photo with a generative image model, which can recover texture and fix problems sliders cannot, but it can also change small details. Compare both with the divider before saving.
Can it fix a blurry or low-resolution photo?
Mild softness, yes: raise Sharpen here. For camera shake or missed focus use the Unblur tool, which uses deconvolution. For small images use the Upscaler, which enlarges 2× to 8×.
What file do I get back?
Slider results save as a high-quality JPEG at your photo’s full size (up to 4096px on the long edge). AI results save as PNG at the size the model returns, around 1024 to 1280px.
